Surge Short out against Legends, 18-4

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Sacramento Surge took on the Las Vegas Legends and lost by a score of 18-4 on Friday night at Orleans Arena, as the Surge were outshot by the Legends, 39-9.

The Surge came off a 10-7 win over the Seattle Impact last Saturday, but shorted out against the Legends as the Las Vegas goalie Zeke Sanchez gave up four goals on five saves in the victory.

In the first period, Las Vegas initially struck scoring five straight goals in ten minutes against Surge goalie Cesar Castillo. The Legends tacked on four more goals in the second almost shutting out the Surge before the half- midfielder Matt Germain scored in the final remaining minutes before the half, ending the first half with a score of 9-1.

The Legends tallied up five more goals in the third, while Germain scored his second goal of the game and Norman Levesque sunk one into the back of the net.

The fourth period remained dominate for the Legends adding four more goals, while Levesque added the final goal for the Surge finishing the game with a loss of 18-4.

The Surge return home for a two-game homestand against the San Diego Sockers on Saturday, January 24 at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, January 25 at 3:05 p.m. at McClellan Park.
