FORT MYERS, FL (June 29, 2005) - Miracle manager Riccardo Ingram is running out of superlatives to describe his pitching staff as they turned in another gem in a 3-1 victory over the Tampa Yankees on Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium.

Adam Harben, who appeared to be battling an injury during the game, lasted five innings of shutout baseball allowing just two hits while walking two and striking out three. He threw just 60 pitches, 34 for strikes before being removed before the sixth inning. He gutted it out and wound up with his sixth victory of the season.

The bullpen did the rest in helping Harben pick up the victory. Jan Granado pitched two perfect innings. Peter Tautor tossed the eighth and got himself into a bases loaded one out jam, by walking two and giving up an infield single, but only allowed a sacrifice fly off the bat of Justin Christian. Jannio Gutierrez pitched a perfect ninth to earn his third save of the season. The four pitchers combined to allow just three hits, all singles and two of them infield hits.

The offense got all their runs in the second inning off of former Major Leaguer Calvin Maduro. Maduro pitched in 68 Major League games with the Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles, but hadn't thrown in a game since 2003. In the second the Miracle sent eight men to the plate in scoring their three runs. Trent Oeltjen led off by being hit by a pitch. He stole second and scored on a Brock Peterson double to left. One batter later Ron Perodin walked and Matt Tolbert followed with a single that scored Peterson and sent Perodin to second. With two outs Moses doubled to left to score Perodin. Peterson finished the night 3-4, with an RBI and fell a home run shy of the cycle, while Moses was 2-5 with two double and an RBI. Tolbert was 2-5 with an RBI and now has five RBI in his last two games. The same two teams meet Thursday night at Hammond Stadium at 7:05 p.m. It is a battle of All-Stars as the Miracle send RHP Nick Blackburn (6-4, 3.48) to the mound against Yankee RHP Tyler Clippard (6-5, 3.40). It is Dog Daze of Summer at the ballpark. Fans can bring their dog to the park and enjoy the fun amenities around the stadium. The game can also be heard live on Sports Radio 770 ESPN.
