Steinmeyer Adds Kendall Haley to Express Defense

Reading, Pa. (October 11, 2011) -The Reading Express have signed defensive back Kendall Haley, who excelled at both free safety and strong safety for Monmouth University. The Olney, Md., native will be a key piece of Express Head Coach Mark Steinmeyer's defensive unit in 2012.

Haley started 24 games during his four-year career at Monmouth. He tallied 186 tackles and six interceptions. He was named first team All-Northeast Conference safety in 2009 as a junior, and made the All-NEC second team his senior season.

"Kendall comes to us from a well coached, established football program at Monmouth," said Steinmeyer. "He is definitely a ball hawk. Haley is always around the ball and makes big plays at big moments and we are looking for the same kind of production this upcoming season."

The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays on The Reading Hospital Medical Group Field at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
