Titans Sign Former UNI Standout Gray Among Others

Cedar Rapids, IA: The Cedar Rapids Titans, the newest team in the Indoor Football League, continue to add to their inaugural season roster announcing more player signings.

Among the signings the Titans signed former University of Northern Iowa standout and IFL veteran WR Johnny Gray. The 5'9 185-pound wide out played at UNI from 2005-2008. While with the Panthers, Gray collected 141 receptions and 1,912 receiving yards, while compiling 3,724 all-purpose yards over the course of his collegiate career. The Deerfield Beach, Florida native was selected as a 1st Team Gateway Conference Wide Receiver and Punt Returner, as well as a Sports Network All-American Wide Receiver and Punt Returner. Gray is no stranger to the IFL spending the past two seasons with the Bloomington Extreme. In 2011 Gray finished second in the league in receptions recording 79 for 663 yards and 9 touchdowns. "We are extremely excited to pick up Johnny." said Titans General Manager Chris Kokalis. "He's an explosive receiver who is headed in the right direction to make it to the next level."

Along with Gray the Titans also signed former Bloomington Extreme & Kentucky Wesleyan alum QB Haven Mosely to a one year contract. Mosely appeared in four games for the extreme completing 26 of 48 passes for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Mosley was a Football Gazette All-American Honorable Mention recipient and a two-time D2football.com player of the week recipient. In 10 starts at Kentucky Wesleyan, Mosley compiling 2,745 passing yards on 223-421 passing, good for 17 touchdown passes. Mosley also rushed for 623 yards and 5 touchdowns.

The Titans also added 6'2 310lb OL Juliene Adams, 5'10 190lb DB Brandon Henderson, and 6'4 230lb WR Robert Kirvin. The Titans expect to announce additional player signings later this week.

COAT DRIVE A SUCCESS

The Titans wish to thank all those who participated in the team's coat drive last week. Thanks to the community's generosity the team was able to collect 136 coats for local families in need throughout the area. The Salvation Army will handle the distribution of those coats. The Titans will announce details of the team's "Stuff the Bus" food drive planned for November later this month.
