Brampton Steelheads News Release
MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads have announced a trade with the Kitchener Rangers in which they acquire centreman Adam Zidlicky and a 2023 fourth-round pick (BAR) in exchange for a 2023 fourth-round pick (SBY), a 2026 fourth-round pick (MISS), and a 2025 fifth-round pick (MISS).
A 2005-born player, Zidlicky has played for the Kitchener Rangers for two seasons. The forward put up 13 points (6G, 7A) in his rookie year and is currently just one goal away from matching his last season's totals. He was drafted in the sixth round (#102 overall) in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection and is eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft.
Hailing from Prague, Czech Republic, Zidlicky has played for the Czechia national team in several tournaments, including the U17 and U18 World Championships and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. At the 2022 U18 tournament, the centreman tallied 5 points (3G, 2A) in 8 games and scored a goal for his team at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this past summer.
Hockey runs deep in the Zidlicky family, as father Marek Zidlicky played more than 800 games in the NHL. Marek is currently an assistant coach for the Czechia team at the U20 World Junior Championships.
Welcome Adam and the entire Zidlicky family to the Steelheads organization!
