Steelhawks Sign Former Lehigh Standout Cribbs

Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks have added more local talent to the 2012 roster today with the signing of former Lehigh University star Jarard Cribbs. Cribbs, who graduated from Lehigh University in 2011, was a Sports Network All-American in 2010 as well as an ECAC 1st team All-Star, and member of the All-Patriot League teams in 2008 (2nd team) and 2010 (1st team). The former Mountain Hawk was a DB/Kick Returner that had twelve career interceptions, seven of which came in his senior year. He also totaled 673 return yards in his four years of playing. Cribbs joins LB Matt Cohen as former Lehigh University to players to extend their playing careers with the Steelhawks.

The Steelhawks are also proud to announce the re-signing of two key players from last year, QB Andre Sloan El and RB Ryan Leafey. In six games last year Sloan El threw for 4 touchdowns and accumulated a 52.3 passer rating. Leafey was a dual threat out of the backfield, running for 4 touchdowns, and catching another. He also had 62 yards as a return specialist, and 249 total yards on the season as a rookie. The Iron Man standout also contributed in all phases of Special Teams and filled in admirably at Linebacker on Defense when a rash of injuries forced him to play both ways.

Don't forget, the Steelhawks first open tryout is less than two weeks away. It will be held at BucksMont Indoor Sports Complex, 2278 North Penn Road, Hatfield, PA 19440, on September 17th from 12pm to 4pm. Registration is available online or at the door.

The Steelhawks will be bringing back the fast paced, exciting action of Indoor Football to Stabler Arena at the beginning of 2012. Season tickets are now available.
