Colorado Ice Defense Adds Two from UNLV with Recent Signings

Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice are proud to announce the signings of six defensive players to the 2012 Pre-Season roster. The players are Ronnie Paulo, Preston Brooks, Rodney Beamon, Anthony Hale, Fonterrian Ingram and Andre Thornton.

Paulo is a 6'2", 248 lb linebacker from UNLV, who was rated as the 65th best inside linebacker prospect in the 2011 draft class. During his career at UNLV, Paulo played in 42 games, recording 241 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 7 pass break-ups. For his senior season, Paulo recorded 85 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Paulo received the prestigious 36 "Battle Born" jersey before his senior season which is given to the player who best exemplifies leadership, pride, and toughness to Rebel football. Paulo was named a team captain before his senior season.

Brooks is a 6'3", 250 lb defensive end from UNLV, who was rated as the 89th best defensive end prospect in the 2011 draft class. During his career at UNLV, Brooks played in 28 games, accumulating 76 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks. For his senior season, Brooks had 38 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks; earning him an invitation to the Dixie Gridiron Classic All-Star Game.

Beamon is a 6'2", 325 lb defensive lineman from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Beamon spent part of last season playing for the SIFL runner-up Louisiana Swashbucklers. While with the Swashbucklers, Beamon played in six games, recording 7 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and 2 blocked kicks. In his final two seasons at Chattanooga, Beamon played in 23 games, recording 56 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

Hale is a 6'2", 190 lb defensive back from Glenville State University. During his final 2 seasons at Glenville, Hale was one of the top defensive backs in the WVIAC, recording 59 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 7 interceptions, 14 pass break-ups, and 1 touchdown. In his senior season alone, Hale had 25 tackles and 6 interceptions.

Ingram is a 5'11", 205 lb defensive back from Ole Miss, who was rated as the 44th best free safety prospect in the 2011 draft class. During his career at Ole Miss, Ingram played in 43 games, recording 133 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 pass break-ups, 5 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. In his senior season alone, Ingram had 63 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Thornton is a 6'2", 245 lb linebacker from North Carolina A&T, who was rated as the 109th best inside linebacker prospect in the 2010 draft class. During his career at NCA&T, Thornton played in 44 games, recording 256 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 10 pass break-ups, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception. During his time at NCA&T, Thornton received recognition for his on the field play, as well as for his academic greatness.
