Steelhawks Announce First Open Tryout Date

Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks announced today the first open tryout date leading up to their inaugural season in the Indoor Football League. The tryout is set for Sunday, October 24th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The open tryout will take place at the Lehigh University Field Hockey turf outside of the Stabler Arena. Players who plan on attending are asked to be present and ready to workout no later than 7:30 a.m. The Stabler Arena will also be the site of all Steelhawks home games during the 2011 season.

"As an expansion franchise these open tryouts will go a long way in helping us get the best talent this area has to provide," stated Steelhawks Executive Vice President Mike Clark. "Our soon to be announced coaching staff, along with the rest of the Steelhawks front office, is thrilled to begin the process of building a championship team in 2011."

Steelhawks coaches will be using various exercises to evaluate players, including:

40-yard Dash

Short Shuttle

Vertical Leap

Three Cone Drill

Standing Broad Jump

One-on-One Play

Eight-on-Eight Play

Offensive & Defensive Drills

Location:   Lehigh University Goodman Campus (Field Hockey Field), 124 Goodman Drive., Bethlehem, PA 18015

Time:              8:00 am - 1:00 pm, with registration from 7:00 am - 8:00 am
