Alabama Steeldogs News Release

CHICAGO – The af2 league office has honored Steeldogs OS Detronn Harris as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week according to a Tuesday afternoon press release.

Harris turned in a remarkable performance against the Arkansas Twisters on Saturday, May 21 in Little Rock. The West Georgia-product caught 10 passes for 102 yards and three touchdowns, returned seven kicks for 204 yards and a touchdown and rushed twice for eight yards and another score. In all, he accounted for 314 all-purpose yards and 30 points.

Oddly enough, Harris did not win the award on game night, as Arkansas WR/DB Robert Kilow swept both the Offensive Player of the Game and Ironman of the Game Awards. As an offensive specialist, Harris was not eligible to win the Ironman award, which goes to the gameÂ’s best two-way player.

Harris and the Steeldogs return to the friendly confines of the BJCC Arena on Saturday, May 21 to face the Green Bay Blizzard. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and tickets are still available. Call 205.715.6000 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com for individual game tickets. For more information contact the Steeldogs front office at 205.458.8833 or visit us on the Web at www.steeldogs.com.
