This is Harris' first ever-weekly award and the first since Carlos McNeary won the U.S. Army Ironman of the Week award in Week 12 of last season.
U.S. ARMY IRONMAN OF THE WEEK
Kilow (5-11, 178, Arkansas State) in his second season, helped the Arkansas Twisters defeat the Birmingham Steeldogs 61-60 on Saturday. On offense Kilow led the Twisters in receiving with six catches for 125 yards and three touchdowns. He continued to find the endzone on both special teams and defense. Kilow returned four kickoffs a total of 152 yards including one for a fourth quarter touchdown. On defense Kilow recovered a fumble and returned it 19 yards for a second quarter score. In addition, Kilow broke up one pass and led the Twisters in tackles with five (4UA-2AT). This is Kilow's first ever-weekly award. The last Twisters player to be honored by the league was Kevin Williams for Week 14 of last season when he won Offensive Player of the Week honors.
ADT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mason (5-10, 185, Kentucky), in his fifth season, made several key plays in Rio Grande Valley's 52-49 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers. The win was the Dorado's first ever victory against a non-division foe. Mason, who is with his eighth af2 team, is one of the league's most experienced veterans. He was signed by the Dorados during the week and was playing in his first game for the Dorados this season. He led the Dorados in tackles with 12, all solo. He also registered one tackle for a loss. His key plays were two interceptions, one in the second and one in the fourth quarter. In the second he intercepted pass deep pass intended for the speedy Pioneer receiver J.R. Thomas. Two plays later the Rio Grande Valley Dorados turned the takeaway into a touchdown. In the fourth quarter the Dorados had just taken a 52-49 lead with 28 seconds left. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton took the ball back and immediately started to move down field. Reaching the Dorados' 15-yard line with less than ten seconds left, the Pioneers' Kyle Rowley looked toward the endzone only to find Mason. The interception clinched the game and moved the Dorados above .500 at 4-3 and into a tie with Central Valley for second place in the West Division. This is the second weekly honor in Mason's career.
