Steel Release 2021-2022 Regular Season Schedule
GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Clark Cup Champion Chicago Steel, in conjunction with the United States Hockey League, announced the club's 2021-2022 regular season schedule Friday, a full 62-game slate.
The Steel home opener is slated for Saturday, October 2 against a familiar foe, the Muskegon Lumberjacks, in a rematch of the 2021 Eastern Conference Final. The Steel host one weeknight matchup during the holidays with a Thursday, December 30 matchup against the Madison Capitols at 6:05 pm CT.
Chicago's first regular season contest is a rematch of the 2021 Clark Cup Final as the Steel square off against the Fargo Force on Saturday, September 25 at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Penn. as part of the Fall Classic. The next three-game weekend, scheduled to start on Friday, Feb. 4 with a road matchup against the Green Bay Gamblers, concludes with a two-game set on home ice against the Tri-City Storm, the #1 seed in the Western Conference during the 2021 Clark Cup Playoffs and the only Western Conference team to visit Fox Valley Ice Arena during the 2021-2022 regular season.
The Steel will drop the puck 10 times each against Madison and Green Bay, the two opponents Chicago will see most often during the regular season. Green Bay entered the 2021 Clark Cup Playoffs as the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
