Phantoms Release 2021-2022 Schedule

YOUNGSTOWN, OH - The Youngstown Phantoms release their 2021-2022 United States Hockey League (USHL) regular-season schedule.

Andrew Goldman states, "We are thrilled to be announcing our schedule for the 2021-2022 season. It is exciting to be preparing for a Phantoms season without Covid restrictions and one that will allow us to continue to build on the outpouring of fan support we felt before our season being cut short in 2020. We have a strong nucleus of returning players and look forward to returning to the playoffs and competing for a Clark Cup."

The Phantoms will head to Fall Classic in Pittsburgh, PA, for our first two games of the season. We will battle the western conference on September 23 against Lincoln Stars and September 24th against Waterloo Black Hawks. Our home opener at the Covelli Centre will be Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, where we will host the National Development Program, Team USA, U-17. The Phantoms, who enter their 12th Season, will play 29 home games at Covelli Centre during the 62 game schedule. Next, the Phantoms will travel to Rochester, NY, to compete against the Green Bay Gamblers for a weekend series, more details to come.

The Phantoms will head to Michigan for the first game of the series against the National Development Program, Team USA, U-17 before our home opener on October 2nd. Then, they will be on the road for a weekend series against the Madison Capitols (October 8th & 9th) and Cedar Rapids Roughriders (October 22nd and 23rd). Finally, phantoms will be home to battle Cedar Rapids Roughriders on October 29th and 30th.

In November, the Phantoms are away the first weekend to take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks (November 5th and 6th) and the third weekend against Madison Capitols (November 19th) and the Green Bay Gamblers (November 20th). We will be home to take on the Madison Capitols for a weekend series on November 12th and 13th. Thanksgiving weekend, we will battle the Clark Cup Champions, the Chicago Steel, for the first time on November 26th and 27th.

In December, the Phantoms will be heading to Rochester, NY, to take on the Green Bay Gamblers on December 3rd and 4th. After that, we will be home one more time for a three-game weekend series against the Dubuque Fighting Saints, December 10th, 11th, and 12th. Then we will be home against the Green Bay Gamblers on December 18th and 19th. Finally, the Phantoms will be on the road to battle Team USA U-17 on December 18th in Plymouth, Michigan. After the holiday break, they will head back to Michigan for a weekend battling Team USA U17 (December 30th) and closing the year on December 31st against Muskegon Lumberjacks.

The Phantoms are scheduled to open 2022 with home weekend games (January 7th and 8th) against Cedar Rapids Roughriders at the Covelli Centre, followed by away games against the Clark Cup Champions, the Chicago Steel (January 14 th and 15th), and Muskegon Lumberjacks (January 21st and 22nd). Finally, we end the month at home against Team USA U-17's January 28th and 29th.

We begin the month of February in Wisconsin on February 4th and 5th and in Green Bay on February 11th and 12th before returning home to face the Muskegon Lumberjacks (February 18th and 19th) and the Team USA U-18 (February 23rd) and ending the month in Dubuque February 26th and 27th.

March begins with the Phantoms home against Madison, March 4th and 5th. Then, the Phantoms will host Green Bay for a three-game series on March 11th, 12th, and 13th. The Phantoms are then off on the road for a four-game stretch to Chicago Steel on March 19th and 20th and U18 on March 25th and 26 th.

April features six home games, Muskegon Lumberjacks, April 1st-3rd, being the first set of home games, and April 15th and 16th against Chicago. We are closing out the regular season against Team USA U-17, April 23rd. The Phantoms will be on the road for a two-game series against our rival Cedar Rapids (April 8th) and Dubuque (April 9th), and Team USA, U17 (April 22nd).

This season's playoff format will change from last season, with the top six teams from each conference qualifying for the playoffs. Friday and Saturday home games begin at 7:05 p.m. The Phantoms play three Sunday home games at 4:05 pm, one Wednesday home game at 10:00 a.m.
