GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Currently in first place in the USHL's Eastern Conference and on the verge of clinching the first playoff spot in the East, the Chicago Steel (31-12-7-1; 70 pts.) take on the Youngstown Phantoms (23-17-5-4; 55 pts.) at Fox Valley Ice Arena on Thursday, March 24 at 7:05 pm CT, a rescheduled game that was postponed from January 14.

During the game, fans can enjoy 1/2 price Budweiser products and $5 craft beer, courtesy of Rookies All-American Pub for the Eastern Conference clash.

Entering the weeknight contest, Chicago's magic number stands at two, setting up a win-and-in scenario on home ice against Youngstown on Thursday.

The Steel Wednesday launched its popular "Pay As We Play" playoff ticket program, allowing fans to guarantee the same seats for all potential playoff home games. Single-game playoff tickets will go on sale in April once seeding and playoff dates are finalized for the first Steel playoff series. For more details on the "Pay As We Play" program, call 855-51-STEEL or email the Steel at info@chicagosteelhockeyteam.com.

After the Thursday night game, the Steel travel to Iowa for a Saturday night showdown against the Dubuque Fighting Saints (31-15-2-3; 67 pts.) at Mystique Community Ice Center at 7:05 pm CT.

In last weekend's game action, the Steel earned four out of a possible six points with a 3-2 victory on March 18 on the road against the Madison Capitols before defeating the Youngstown Phantoms 7-2 on March 19. Chicago fell 1-0 on home ice Sunday against Youngstown, ending a four-game win streak for the Steel.

The Steel wore special Military Appreciation jerseys presented by McCue Chevy on Saturday which are available for auction with proceeds benefitting Wounded Warrior Project through Thursday, March 24 when bids close at 6:00 pm CT. Fans can place their bid or select the 'Buy It Now' option to purchase their favorite jersey for $600 HERE: https://bit.ly/3isgpfj.

In Saturday's victory, rookie forward Chris Delaney scored his first career USHL goal for Chicago and added a second marker later in the game. Including Delaney, 10 Steel players have scored their first career USHL goal this season.

The Phantoms hold a 3-2-0-0 record against the Steel through five games in the regular season series thus far. Youngstown is one of two USHL clubs with a winning record in head-to-head matchups against Chicago.

Phantoms rookie Adam Ingram has put together the highest scoring season by a Youngstown rookie since Cameron Morrison during the 2015-2016 campaign. Ingram, a West St. Paul, Manitoba, native, has compiled 49 points (21G, 28A) over 47 games after Morrison totaled 66 points (34G, 32A) in 60 games played.

Since the Steel last faced off against the Dubuque Fighting Saints, a 6-3 Steel win at Mystique Community Ice Center, Dubuque has made significant personnel moves before the final regular season meeting between the current top two teams in the Eastern Conference.

Prior to the Feb. 28 USHL trade deadline, Dubuque added forwards Jackson Hallum from the Green Bay Gamblers and Davis Burnside from the Des Moines Buccaneers. Since being acquired by the Fighting Saints, Hallum has picked up five goals and six helpers while Burnside has accounted for two markers and one assist.

The Steel will begin the final month of the regular season with back-to-back games against the Madison Capitols. The teams square off on Friday, April 1 at Fox Valley Ice Arena before heading to Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena for a rematch on Saturday, April 2 with both games starting at 7:05 pm CT.

Steel single-game tickets start at just $10 and are available in person at the Steel Box Office at Fox Valley Ice Arena, by phone at 855-51-STEEL and online at chicagosteelhockeyteam.com. The Steel offer single-game ticket discounts for kids 12 and under and military.
