Chicago Steel News Release
BENSENVILLE, IL (November 26, 2008) -- Eric Alexander (Ferris State University) scored his league-leading 13th goal of the season, but it wasn't enough for the Chicago Steel to get a win at the Resch Center in Green Bay Wednesday night.
C.J. Lee scored twice for the Gamblers to lead the way offensively, and Green Bay goalie Reid Ellingson stopped 21 Chicago shots in their 5-1 win.
The Gamblers got on the board in the first 5 minutes of the game with a shorthanded goal from Anthony Hayes.
Midway through the first period, Alexander tied the game at one with his USHL best 13th goal this year.
But before the first period ended, Lee gave the Gamblers the lead for good at the 16:14 mark.
Green Bay would add a goal in the second period, and two in a fight-filled third period for the final margin.
The Steel will return to action at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville Friday night, November 28th at 7:30 p.m. against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Tickets are still available, and can be ordered by calling 630.594.1165.
