BENSENVILLE, Ill. - Tri-City (0-2) was unable to hold on after taking an early lead, losing 4-2 to the Chicago Steel (2-0) at the Chicago Edge Arena in Bensenville, Ill. on Saturday night.
Trevor Moore led the way for a second consecutive night for the Storm, scoring his second goal of the season. Garrett Gamez also got his first goal in a Storm uniform and Tim Bonner picked up assists on both goals.
Moore put Tri-City ahead just over a minute into the game, taking a pass from Eli May and backhanding it into the net 1:15 in. Chicago tied it up late in the period on a goal by Thomas Ebbing and it was 1-1 at the end of the first.
The Storm took their second lead of the game when Gamez found the back of the net on a two-on-one with Bonner 7:10 into the second period. Josh McArdle was credited with the second assist, playing in his home state of Illinois.
