Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - Andy Steavens has been promoted to Director of Group Sales, General Manager Michael Wood announced Monday.
Steavens, 26, succeeds Adam Nuse, who accepted a position with Learfield Sports in April.
"Andy is a talented young man who did a nice job of spearheading our group sales efforts during the 2008 season," Wood said. "He has the respect of our ownership and front-office staff and deserves this opportunity to take Hooks group attendance to the next level."
Steavens joined the Hooks last November after two seasons as an account executive with the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. A 2005 graduate of Southern Illinois University, he also interned with the Burlington, Iowa, Bees, Class A Midwest League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
"I am grateful to be part of the Ryan Sanders Baseball family," Steavens said. "They gave me a wonderful opportunity last fall and I look forward to serving the Hooks and their fans in a new capacity."
