Quad City Steamwheelers News Release

(Moline, Ill.) - The Quad City Steamwheelers announced today that the team changed the start times of its home games to 7:00 p.m.

"After talking with our fans we determined that we needed to consider changing our start times to 7:00 p.m.," said Shawn Brown, Vice President/General Manager of the Quad City Steamwheelers. "We have a lot of fans with young children and they want to be home at a reasonable time. After discussing the issue as a staff we decided to move game times to 7:00 p.m."

In addition to fan feedback, the team also took a new league-wide partnership with NiFTy into account when changing the start time of its games. Thanks to this partnership, arenafootball2 games will be broadcast around the world for free via the internet. NiFTy has been well received in the Central Hockey League helping to bring additional exposure to teams and boost attendance.

"We are very excited about the league partnership with NiFTy," said Brown. "This deal is another way for us to bring our games to our fans. The product has been given rave reviews by other leagues and we are looking forward to having it deployed league-wide in the af2 this season. However, because this broadcast has television timeouts we also took that into consideration when deciding if we should change our start times or not."
