Youth is served with Steamers' Rookies:

A quick glance at the Steamers' roster shows that the future looks bright. St. Louis has four MISL rookies on its roster in Jason Cole, Jake Bleyenberg, Ryan Ferguson, and Mike Kirchhoff. Ferguson and Kirchhoff are both St. Louis natives. Ferguson made the team from an open tryout this summer and played in his first Steamers regular-season game on Nov. 8. He recorded one shot and made an all-around impressive showing. Bleyenberg and Cole are both from the Kansas City area. Cole scored his second goal in four games on Saturday. He most recently played with the A-League Cincinnati Riverhawks and was a standout college performer at Saint Louis University, where he started 79 of 80 games in four years. Bleyenberg played for the Kansas City Brass of the PDL prior to the Steamers. Joe Morelli is from Holly, Mich., and previously played for the Cincinnati Riverhawks.

Butcher keeps cookin':

Steve Butcher has started the season on a roll. Butcher has played all four games so far and is leading the team with six goals and 24 shots, and he is second to Daryl Doran with four assists. Butcher is tied for second on the MISL leader board with 10 points. He is in his fourth year of play in the MISL.
