Steamers Namazi activates himself
March 29, 2006 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
St. Louis Steamers News Release
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Steamers' Head Coach, Omid Namazi has activated himself for play for the remainder of the 2005-06 season. Namazi will not give up his Head Coaching position however, and will still be man making the final decisions on the field for St. Louis as player/coach.
With the Steamers playing three games in consecutive days and the team having wrapped up the MISL Regular Season Championship, Namazi will take to the field some time this weekend to give some of his regular players a rest to prepare for the MISL Championship Series, which begins during the weekend of April 14th - 16th.
Namazi will play his familiar position of defender as he did before becoming a permanent Head Coach. In 2001 he was named the MISL Defender of the Year as a member of the Philadelphia KiXX. The following season (2001-02), Namazi led the KiXX to the MISL Championship as player/coach.
