California Cougars kick for cancer

March 29, 2006 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
California Cougars News Release

The California Cougars have partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for a fundraising event scheduled for Saturday night, April 1, when the California Cougars host the Philadelphia KiXX at 7:30 at the Stockton Arena in Major Indoor Soccer League action.

Special vouchers have been issued offering a ticket price of $10.00 for this Saturday's game, with 30 percent of the admission price (voucher required) being donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual "Light The Night" event. The "Light The Night" Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide fundraiser to build awareness of blood cancers, improve the quality of life for patients and their families, and to continue the Society's more than 50 years of support for research specifically targeting a cure for blood cancers. "Light The Night" walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors and red for supporters - to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer.

If you are interested in obtaining a voucher and attending the Cougars game while supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the necessary material is available at the Cougars' official website www.californiacougars.net, or by calling the team at (209) 373-1550.

For more information on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night event, please visit their website at www.lightthenight.org.
