Stealth jump up to number one in coaches poll

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth began the season ranked #11 in the af2 Coaches Poll and their 4-0 start as seen them jump all the way to the #1 spot in this week's poll. They fly past the Quad City Steamwheelers (3-1) who were defeated by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers (3-0) 40-27 in Wilkes-Barre last weekend. Wilkes-Barre jumps up to the #2 spot behind Wichita. The only other undefeated team in af2 is the Louisville Fire (3-0) and they come in at #3 in this week's poll.
This week Louisville will travel to take on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a match-up of the #2 and #3 teams in the poll. This will be the first time ever that these two teams have faced each other.
Each week during the season, af2 coaches will vote for the Top 12 teams in the league by ranking them one through 12 on a ballot. Teams ranked first receive 12 points with the point value decreasing by one for each place below first, meaning a team ranked 12th would receive one point. Total points will determine the Top 12 list. In the event of a tie in total points, the team with the greater number of first-place votes will be ranked higher.
The complete poll is listed below. The number in parentheses behind the vote count represents the number of first place votes the team received. The coaches poll will be announced every Wednesday during the regular season. Coaches may not vote for their own team and the results have no bearing on postseason qualification.
STEALTH NOTES: The Stealth enjoy their first bye this week, before hitting the road for three weeks to face the Rio Grande Valley Dorados (2-1) on May 8th, the Quad City Steamwheelers (3-1) on May 15th and the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (2-1) on May 22nd.The Stealth return home to face the Laredo Law (0-3) on May 29th. The Stealth defeated the Law 44-22 on April 10th in Wichita.
