Stealth jump to number four in coaches poll
April 8, 2004 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Wichita Stealth News Release
Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth begin the season ranked #11 in the first ever arenafootball2 Coaches preseason poll, and after their first win of the season, the Stealth jump all the way up to #4 in this week's poll.
Each week during the season, af2 coaches will vote for the Top 12 teams in the league by ranking them one through 12 on a ballot. Teams ranked first receive 12 points with the point value decreasing by one for each place below first, meaning a team ranked 12th would receive one point. Total points will determine the Top 12 list. In the event of a tie in total points, the team with the greater number of first-place votes will be ranked higher.
The Quad City Steamwheelers (Wichita's week #7 opponent) notched the top spot in this week's poll by accumulating 266 of a possible 288 points, which included 19 first place votes.
The complete poll is listed below. The number in parentheses represents the number of first place votes the team received. The coaches poll will be announced every Wednesday during the regular season. Coaches may not vote for their own team and the results have no bearing on postseason qualification
STEALTH NOTES: The Stealth are set to play the Laredo Law this Saturday night, April 10th at the Kansas Coliseum. Gametime is set for 7:00 p.m and you can get your tickets by calling 316.755.3307.
