Stealth Coaching Staff

July 24, 2008 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
San Jose Stealth News Release

Jeff Dowling, the new head coach for the San Jose Stealth professional indoor lacrosse team, has completed his new coaching staff by landing former Calgary Roughneck Head Coach Chris Hall and retaining assistant coaches Art Webster and Joe Romano, it was announced today.

Hall will lead the offense while Webster manages the defense. Romano returns for his second season and will coach the goaltenders.

Hall comes to the Stealth after serving as head coach in Calgary for six years (2002-07). During his tenure in Calgary he never suffered a losing season and he guided the Roughnecks to the postseason four times, leading them to the NLL title in 2004. His coaching resume also includes two Mann Cup titles (1983, 99) and 13 Canadian National Championships in field lacrosse.

Webster, a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, is a proven defensive coordinator having coached the Victoria Shamrocks to five consecutive Mann Cup appearances, including title winners in 2003 and 2005. He has been with the Stealth for the last three seasons.

"Adding Chris Hall to the staff was an easy decision and we're thrilled that he was available," Dowling said. "To land someone with that kind of experience and a history of winning will be a great benefit to the team. Chris and I became great friends in Calgary and I learned a lot under his tutelage. He will be a tremendous asset running the offense in San Jose. We are all very pleased that Art has agreed to stay on with the Stealth. Every player on the roster has great respect for him and he will continue to guide our defense."

"I'm very excited to join the Stealth organization," Hall said. "I've enjoyed a long lacrosse relationship with every one of the team's management and coaching staff and look forward to being able to work with them all once again. I think we have a great team and I'm anxious to get started on helping to win an NLL Championship for San Jose."

"What Jeff has done by adding Chris and Art to the bench is that he has delivered one of the top coaching staffs in the NLL. It's a championship caliber group," Stealth President/General Manager Johnny Mouradian said. "We already have a great deal of talent on our roster and we will continue to build our team so that we can pursue that League title."
