Stauffer Signed to Triple-A Contract with Mets

SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters and manager Gary Gaetti announced right-handed pitcher Tim Stauffer was signed to a Triple-A contract by the New York Mets after making three starts with the Skeeters. Stauffer becomes the seventh player this season to be signed from Sugar Land and the third signed to the Mets. He joins infielder Brooks Conrad and outfielder Joe Benson with the Las Vegas 51s.

Stauffer went 1-1 with the Skeeters, posting a superb 1.68 ERA over three starts. He scattered 10 hits and four walks while striking out 10 in 16.0 innings of work.
