-DIVISION CHAMP SPIKES FACE WILD CARD-CONTENDING JAMMERS: The State College Spikes have clinched the Pinckney Division title and home-field advantage throughout the New York-Penn League playoffs, and now can play a part in deciding their NYPL Semifinal Series opponent as they face the Jamestown Jammers in the opener of a three-game series at Russell Diethrick Park. The Jammers hold a one-game lead on Lowell for the NYPL Wild Card berth, the winner of which will face the Spikes in the first-round playoff series. State College holds a 7-1 edge in the season series against Jamestown. Jamestown leads the all-time series, 40-37.
-LAST GAME: The State College Spikes were held to three hits by Auburn Doubledays pitching, and a pair of big home runs helped give the Doubledays a 10-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Falcon Park. Jimmy Yezzo's three-run homer to right field off Juan Bautista in the fourth inning extended the Auburn lead to 4-0, and a seventh-inning grand slam to left field by Matt Foat off Michael Aldrete doubled that lead to put the game out of reach. Jimmy Bosco's double and singles by Matthew Young and Dante Rosenberg were the extent of the State College offense save for three walks and one time hit by pitch. All of the Doubledays' runs were scored in either a four-run fourth inning or a six-run seventh.
-REYES HEADS TO HILL FOR SPIKES TODAY: Right-hander Arturo Reyes gets the start today for the Spikes in the third game of the regular season-ending five-game road trip. Reyes has been stellar over his last three starts, allowing two runs over six innings in each outing. The Warden, WA native was 1-1 with a 1.73 ERA over 26 innings in the month of August. Reyes, the Cardinals' 40th-round draft choice in the 2013 MLB Draft out of Gonzaga, has not faced the Jammers yet this season.
-JAMMERS SEND NEVERAUSKAS TO MOUND: Right-hander Dovydas Neverauskas makes his 15th start og the year for Jamestown today. Neverauskas, who became the first Lithuanian ever to pitch for the Spikes when he pitched for State College at Jamestown on September 1, leads the New York-Penn League with 10 hit batsmen on the season. The righty hit two of those batters in his last start against the Spikes on June 24 and last just 2/3 of an inning in the loss. Neverauskas is 3-1 with a 2.30 ERA in six home starts this season.
-SPIKES NAME YEAR-END AWARD WINNERS: Prior to Friday's regular season home finale, the Spikes announced their season-ending award winners. First baseman David Washington won the Spikes Most Valuable Player Award with his club record ten homers and league-leading 49 RBI, while right-hander Nick Petree, the team leader with a 1.62 ERA, earned the Spikes Pitcher of the Year Award. Right-handed pitcher Mitch Harris was named the Spikes Leadership Award winner, presented by the Spikes Booster Club.
-SPIKE MARKS: Steven Ramos leads the NYPL in batting by 21 points over Jamestown's Adam Frazier (.356 to .335) with three games remaining...The Spikes lead the league in batting average (.277), are tied for most runs scored (341), and lead in ERA (2.76)...Ramos is the NYPL's hit leader with 85 on the season...Carson Kelly has struck out once every 9.50 at-bats, the second-best ratio in the league
