ORLANDO, Fla. – Interest in "the Gridiron Granny'' – Charlotte Chambers of the Orlando Starz women's football team has resulted in a spike in traffic to the team's official website located at http://www.orlandostarz.com .

Monday and Tuesday's website traffic was nearly four times the daily average of 105 user sessions. Chambers' page has become the most accessed player page and trails only the home page and the roster for visits.

Features highlighting the 70-year old Chambers ran on CNN the past weekend. The CBS Early show was in town April 29 to do a segment on Miss Charlotte as well. Also, there is the possibility of a feature on The Jimmy Kimmel Live show sometime next week.

"We are thrilled with the attention that a well-deserving woman such as Miss Charlotte is receiving,'' said Orlando Starz CEO Marsha Beatty. "As important as it for us to be taken seriously as football players, we also need to show that barriers can be broken, and Charlotte is doing just that.''

Orlando (0-2) faces the Miami Fury (1-0 ) Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Starz are members of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) -- a full tackle women's football league focused on creating a positive, safe and fun environment for the women who play the game and fans that come out to watch them. The IWFL currently has 28 teams across North America from Florida to Montreal and Oregon to Massachusetts. The league championship game will be held July 12. Orlando is in the South Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
