
Stars Win Shootout over Texas Legends

FRISCO, Texas - After scoring the highest point-total for the season, the Salt Lake City Stars won a shootout over the Texas Legends Saturday night, 132-128.
Six Stars players scored in double-figures, including all five starters. Utah Jazz two-way player Erik McCree led Salt Lake City with 28 points, while fellow two-way player Georges Niang tallied 26 points. Jazz assignee Tony Bradley poured in 20 points and nine rebounds. Reserve Diamond Stone added 18 points and Deonte Burton dished out eight assists.
In a game that featured 13 lead changes and four ties, Salt Lake City finished the game scoring a season-high 132 points on the night, shooting 50-of-89 from the field. The Stars shot .511 for the first half, heading into the break down by four.
Salt Lake City used the third quarter to outscore the Legends, 42-24. Texas rallied back from 14 down in the fourth to come within one point, but the final seconds were decided on the free throw line with the Stars landing on top.
The Legends' Brandon Ashley paced all scorers with a game-high 36 points. Center Johnathan Motley contributed 29 points and nine rebounds.
The Stars return home to host the Iowa Wolves on Thursday, March 1. Doors to Bruin Arena will open at 6 p.m. and tipoff is at 7 p.m. Single-game tickets may also be purchased online at www.slcstars.com or at the Vivint Smart Home Arena box office.
