14 dogs race during intermission when the Stars host the Tri-City Storm

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars are letting the dogs loose for the 3rd Annual Wiener Dog Race on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 7:05 p.m. from the Ice Box when they host the Tri-City Storm.

During the first intermission, pre-registered dogs owned by fans and community members will come onto the ice and race for the right to be named Wiener Dog Champion and win an engraved dog bowl and food from Purina. All dogs racing are under 20 pounds and have been pre-screened by Stars staff. Fans without pre-registered dogs will not be able to bring their four-legged friends on game night to race. Local dog training groups and foster shelters will also be tabled around the concourse for people interested in adopting or for information.

The Stars meet the Storm for the final time before April 6 and the third-straight game at the Ice Box. The two sides have played in two-consecutive one-goal games, and each team has won at least five of their last 10 games. The Stars enter their final home game of the month, posting a 3-2-0-0 record in their previous five games with one shutout.
