SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Stampede (17-19-4) avenged last week's loss against the Lincoln Stars (12-24-2), defeating Lincoln 8-4 at Denny Sanford Premier Center on Tuesday night.

Nate Schweitzer scored on the power play at 11:20 and Luke Toporowski capitalized on the next shift 47 seconds later. Cole Sillinger rounded out the Stampede's dominant first period with a power-play strike at 14:44.
Aidan McCarthy entered the game in relief for Ouellette (four goals allowed on 11 shots) following Sillinger's goal.
Lincoln was outshot 15-8 in the first period and struck out on four power plays. They also failed to kill off two opportunities for Sioux Falls on the man-advantage.
The scoring barrage for the Stampede continued in the second period. Schweitzer added his second goal of the game at 5:55. Daniel Russell potted his 11th goal of the season a minute later. Michael Citara cashed in on an uncontested look at the net at 12:02.
Lincoln controlled the shot totals in the second period, firing 16 on goal. Sioux Falls responded with Toporowski fired home his second goal of the game at 3:24 of the third, making it 8-0 Stampede.
The Stars finally got on the board with Nikolai Mayorov's tenth goal of the season at 4:55. His goal also marked a four-game point streak for the Russian winger. Gleb Veremyev notched his first career USHL tally at 10:59, deflecting a shot from James Stefan past Trent Burnham on the power play.
Yu Sato continued the stretch of momentum for Lincoln as he netted his third goal of the year at 12:11, making it 8-3. Jack O'Leary cut Sioux Falls' lead to 8-4 just under a minute later, collecting his seventh marker in 2020-21.
The deficit was too big to overcome as the Stampede took home the win. Lincoln is now 3-2 against Sioux Falls this season.
The Stars were 1-for-7 on the power play and 0-for-2 on the penalty kill. Burnham stopped 34 shots in the win while McCarthy turned aside 22 of 26 in just over 45 minutes of action.
