Tacoma Stars News Release

TACOMA, WA. - The Tacoma Stars announced their first free agent signing of the off-season Thursday when they announced the addition of MASL veteran midfielder Douglas Lima. Per team and League policies, terms of the agreement were not released.

Lima, a Rio de Janeiro native, joins the Stars coming off his best statistical season in which he tallied 18 points (10G-8A) in 14 games for the Turlock Express. Prior to his time in Turlock, Lima spent two seasons with the Ontario Fury and saw action in 29 games over those seasons. He picked up eight goals, three of which were game-winners, and one assist for the Fury.

Last season the Stars won a close race with Ontario for the second playoff spot in the Pacific Division. Stars head coach Nick Perera is looking to build on that when he enters his second season at the helm. "Douglas is a young, exciting player with tremendous talent and desire. We believe he can help us achieve our goals for years to come" Perera said.

This is the first signing of what promises to be a busy off-season for Tacoma's front office as they look to put together the 2019-2020 roster. Fans can track the team's free agent progress at www.maslsoccer.com/free-agent-list.
