Stars new coach is a proven winner
February 8, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Los Angeles Aftershock News Release
Los Angeles, CA. With the departure of head coach Delisha Milton-Jones, who is overseas preparing for the WBA Los Angeles Sparks coming season, team owner Lowell Moore called upon 20-year coaching veteran Andre Smith to take the team to the next level. With the Stars clearly controlling their own destiny for the playoffs, "the team needed a coach who had been there before," said Moore. "Coach Smith took an 0-28 Orange High School team and turned them into a playoff team. At San Bernadino High School, he took the Cardinals to the CIF Quarter-Finals twice."
Prior to his coaching career, Coach Smith played professionally in Japan, New Zealand and Sweden in addition to stints with the NBA New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks. With their first 3 game win streak of the year, the team has responded tremendously to the new coach who is a proven winner and the stability the new ownership group as provided.
