Stars Host Junior Jazz Night at Vivint Arena

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will partner with the Junior Jazz this Friday, Nov. 19 for a family-friendly party prior to their home game against the Santa Cruz Warriors at Vivint Arena, home of the Utah Jazz.

All current Junior Jazz participants and their families are invited to attend the free pregame party, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. The first 200 kids to arrive sporting their Junior Jazz jerseys will receive a commemorative Utah Jazz bobblehead.

Utah Jazz alumnus Bryon Russell, who played in two NBA Finals during his nine-year Jazz career, will be on hand to take photos and sign autographs with Junior Jazz kids and their families.

The Junior Jazz party will feature bounce houses, balloon artists and a photo scavenger hunt with prizes. Local mascots Bear, Bumble and Buster along with other area mascots will be available for a meet and greet as well as the Jazz Dancers.

All attendees are invited to enjoy the Salt Lake City Stars game following the Junior Jazz party starting at 7 p.m. During the game, there will be contests and giveaways, a 25 percent food discount at all concession stands, and an exclusive autograph session immediately following the game with the entire Stars team.

The University of Utah Health Kids Zone will be available during the game as well, offering access to bounce houses and balloon artists.

Free parking for the Junior Jazz party and Stars game will be available in the Park Place lot located adjacent to Vivint arena on the corner of 300 West and South Temple.

The Stars, coming off a last-second 104-102 victory in their home opener on Wednesday night, will play in a rematch against the Warriors on Friday night.

The Stars roster is highlighted by Utah Jazz two-way players Malik Fitts and Trent Forrest as well as Jazz assignment players Elijah Hughes, Udoka Azubuike and Jared Butler, who scored 30 points, including the game-winner against the Warriors in their first meeting on Wednesday night.

The Salt Lake City Stars are proud to partner with the Junior Jazz, the largest and longest-running youth basketball league in the NBA. A generational program now in its 39th year, Junior Jazz features more than 60,000 players with individual programs managed through more than 120 recreation centers in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona and Nevada.
