Lincoln Stars News Release

The Lincoln Stars host two of the top teams in the USHL this weekend amidst a stretch of three games in as many days.

Lincoln hosts the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday and the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Sunday. The Stars travel to Sioux City on Saturday in between.

Lincoln has won four consecutive games for the first time this season and looks to stretch the streak to five games on Friday. The Stars have won 10 of their last 13 games and are 15-7 since Thanksgiving after opening the season 3-12-0-2. Lincoln holds a four-point edge on Des Moines for the sixth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference by virtue of sweeping last weekend's home-and-home series against the Buccaneers.

Sioux City enters Friday's game with the second-best record in the Western Conference. The Musketeers have won seven of their last 10 games, including a 6-2 victory over Sioux Falls last Saturday. Forward Kaden Shahan leads the USHL with 29 goals and is tied for the league-lead with 10 power-play goals.

Dubuque has the best record in the Eastern Conference and the second-best mark in the entire USHL. The Fighting Saints are 15-4-1 away from the ImOn Arena and head into Friday riding a six-game point streak with 10 points earned. Forward Jake Sondreal leads all USHL skaters with 52 points and his 34 assists are tied for second-most in the league.

Friday's game is Aubri Brown Club Night. The Stars and the Musketeers will both be wearing specialty uniforms and the Stars jerseys will be auctioned off after the game to benefit families who have lost a child far too soon.

The matchup with Sioux City is also another edition of Friday Night Pints. Bud Light 16 oz. pours will be available for $3 all game long while supplies last.

Sunday's game is Undie Sunday. Fans are encouraged to bring new, prepackaged underwear to the Ice Box and toss it on the ice after the Stars score their first goal of the game. Donations will be given to Foster Care Closet of Nebraska.
