Stars FC and Running Aces Team up for March 1 Poker Tournament

Minnesota Stars FC and Running Aces Harness Park are teaming up to co-sponsor a No Limit Hold 'Em poker tournament at the casino in Forest Lake, Minn. Soccer fans and poker players alike are invited to compete in the tournament, which will feature players from Stars FC, cash prizes for the top-three finishers and splash prizes throughout the event on Thursday, March 1.

Early registration for the tournament is available now by calling Stars FC director of operations Angie Blaker at (763) 792-7348. Participants can also register on the day of the tournament at the casino. The tournament entry fee is $65, which covers $50 toward the tournament pot and a $15 casino administrative fee and also includes two general admission tickets to Stars FC's April 7 Dome Opener against the Carolina RailHawks at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

Game tickets will be among many of the prizes on offer on the night. In addition to prizes for the top-three players, the tournament will feature Stars FC apparel, merchandise and game tickets as splash prizes and bounties on the Stars FC players participating. The tournament prizes are organized as follows:

First place: $250 cash and four pictch-side seats to the April 7 Dome Opener

Second place: $125 cash and two pitch-side seats to the April 7 Dome Opener

Third place: $75 cash and a Stars FC T-shirt

Minnesota Stars FC is a proud supporter of The Sanneh Foundation and is a sponsor of the second annual Gala 4 Goals on March 24 at the Depot in Minneapolis.

The Sanneh Foundation's second annual Gala 4 Goals will be a fun filled, spirited evening to inform our guests of the valuable work of the foundation in The Twin Cities and around the world. The evening will have a silent auction, good food, music, as well as special guest speakers.

6 p.m. - VIP meet and greet

7 p.m. - Gala and silent auction begins

8:30 p.m. - Program begins

9 p.m. - Program concludes, music begins

10:30 p.m. - Gala concludes
