
Stars Collect Largest Win of Season against Herd

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars broke season records as they earned their third-straight victory tonight in their first game of a back-to-back set against the Wisconsin Herd. In front of their best Maverik Center crowd to date, with 2,300 in attendance, Salt Lake City defeated Wisconsin 135-100 in their largest win of the season.
Utah Jazz two-way player Johnny Juzang scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-21 from the field and 5-of-14 from behind the arc, including four rebounds, and two points. Isaiah Miller tallied his first double-double of the season with 12 points and a Stars season-high 11 rebounds off the bench. Utah Jazz two-way player, Micah Potter, also put on an impressive performance as he finished with a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. Reserve Stacy Davis tallied an astounding 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting, and 2-of-5 from downtown.
The Herd were led by forward Rob Edwards, who finished with a team-high 17 points. Center Jontay Porter notched a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. While- former Salt Lake City Stars player, Elijah Hughes contributed 13 points for Wisconsin.
The Stars secured a 29-22 lead in the first quarter that set the pace for the rest of the contest. Salt Lake City only continued to build their lead as Juzang found his rhythm, adding 12 points, while Miller and new Star, CJ Elleby, grabbed a combined 15 rebounds in the team's powerful paint performance, ending the half with a 19-point lead.
Both teams returned from the intermission with a fire, but Salt Lake City dominated down low and pushed on to secure the final 135-100 victory.
Prior to tonight's game, the Stars organization welcomed participants from Junior Jazz, the largest and longest-running youth basketball league in the NBA, for a fun, family friendly game night, featuring a Jazz player meet-and-greet, team autographs, bounce-houses and face painters.
The Stars will return tomorrow for a final face-off against Wisconsin at 7 p.m. (MT) at the Maverik Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
