
Stars Beat Fargo 4-0 in 'Battle in Lincoln'

Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars were the hosts who scored the most - beating the Fargo Force 4-0 in the first game of The Ticket FM Battle in Lincoln at the Ice Box on Thursday night.
Lincoln got off to a quick start with goaltender Patrik Virtanen making a few big saves during the Lincoln's first penalty kill and giving the team momentum into the middle part of the opening period.
At 10:25 of the first period Stars forward Anthony Wyse made it 1-0 after catching a pass from forward Jack Badini and burying it past Force goaltender Robbie Beydoun.
Lincoln continued cruising in the second, killing a couple penalties and making it 2-0 when Stars forward Biagio Lerario found a soft spot over Beydoun's left shoulder at 6:36 of the period.
The scoring continued in the third when Stars forward Sam Kapullia made it at 11:40, then forward Patrick Polino iced the game with an empty netter in the waning seconds.
The Stars finished 4/4 on the penalty kill and Virtanen turned aside 26 shots for the shutout in his first start in the Ice Box.
Lincoln returns to the Ice Box Friday, September 18 vs. EC Red Bull Salzburg.
