Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders are looking for a third consecutive road victory as they face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Ron Joyce Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. MDT and the game will be broadcast on News Talk 770 and TSN.
The Ticats are playing at 6,000-seat Ron Joyce Stadium, home of the McMaster University Marauders, while work is completed on their new facility. This is the fourth different venue in as many years for a Stamps road game against the Tiger-Cats as the contest was played in Moncton as part of Touchdown Atlantic in 2011, at the since-demolished Ivor Wynne Stadium in 2012 and at the Ticats' temporary home at Guelph's Alumni Stadium in 2013.
Calgary is 5-1 this season including road victories in Toronto and Edmonton. Hard-luck Hamilton is 1-5 with four of the five losses coming by seven points or fewer.
One of those heart-breaking defeats came on July 18 at McMahon Stadium as the Stamps prevailed 10-7 in a defensive battle.
In Week 7 action, the Stampeders thumped the Ottawa RedBlacks 38-17 at home while the Ticats dropped a 36-29 decision to the BC Lions in Vancouver.
Both teams had strong performances from their quarterbacks last week as Calgary's Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a score. Meanwhile, Hamilton's Dan LeFevour tossed for 298 yards and also ran for 103 yards and a touchdown.
