The Calgary Stampeders' quest for the 108th Grey Cup begins with the Western Semi-Final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Winnipeg will host the victor in next Sunday's Western Final at IG Field.

A win in Regina this week would earn the Red and White a chance to fight for divisional supremacy for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons.

After finishing third in the West, the Stamps (8-6) travel east to square off with the second-place Riders (9-5) in their first playoff meeting since 2013. The most recent semi-final game between the longstanding rivals was a 36-30 come-from-behind victory for Calgary at home in 2012.

Bo Levi Mitchell, despite having made 10 divisional playoff appearances, will get his first post-season start against Saskatchewan.

This past regular season saw the Stamps win two out of three matchups with the Roughriders by a combined score of 62-56. Calgary's lone regular-season trip to Saskatchewan was a 22-19 triumph as Rene Paredes kicked the winning field goal as time expired.

Linebacker Darnell Sankey of the Stampeders led the CFL with 97 tackles during the 14-game schedule while the Riders' A.C. Leonard topped the league with 11 sacks. The Stamps were 5-2 on the road and Saskatchewan had an identical 5-2 record at home.

Calgary enters the playoffs on a 6-1 run including a frantic, feel-good finish last Saturday against Winnipeg by a score of 13-12. Saskatchewan had taken four straight before a 24-3 loss in Hamilton in Week 16.
