Stamps Return Home for Matchup with Montreal
The Calgary Stampeders will face the only team they have yet to play in 2019 when the Montreal Alouettes come to McMahon Stadium. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.
Both sides will be looking to get back on track following Week 9 losses. The Stamps (5-3) were dealt a 26-24 defeat in Winnipeg and the Alouettes (3-4) fell 17-10 at home to Saskatchewan.
With a victory on Saturday, the Red and White will earn a 10th consecutive home win over the Als. Calgary is 12-6 overall against Montreal during that period.
The Stampeders have a league-high 24 takeaways while Montreal has committed a CFL-low 10 turnovers.
Next week's schedule has the Stamps on their second bye of the year. Montreal will serve as the road team in the Touchdown Atlantic game from Moncton, N.B., as they face the Toronto Argonauts.
Saturday, Oct. 5 will see Calgary head east to conclude their season series with the Alouettes.
Incidentally, Saturday's game comes exactly 100 days before the kickoff for the 107th Grey Cup game at McMahon Stadium.
Purolator Tackle Hunger
Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make cash, credit or debit-tap donations to Purolator volunteers stationed at the stadium gates for the team's annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive. All proceeds will support the Calgary Food Bank. The Grey Cup trophy will be available for fan photos from 2-5 p.m. near the C-Train walkway on the east side of McMahon Stadium.
Red City Drum Line
The team's drum line will be performing both before and during the game.
The fun gets underway three hours before kickoff with the Gridiron Gardens tailgate party on the South Practice Field from 2-5 p.m. The party will include live music from High Steppin' Daddy, food and beverage options available for purchase, face painters, a DJ, a 2019 Grey Cup sales tent, various sponsorship activations and autograph tables with both current and former Stampeders players.
Members of past Stampeders Grey Cup championship teams will be in attendance on Saturday night. The group will be signing pre-game autographs in the Gridiron Gardens and participating in a special halftime celebration. The list of alumni includes Jabari Arthur, Basil Bark, Randy Chevrier, Jon Cornish, Rob Cote, Bruce Covernton, Matt Finlay, David Heasman, Will Johnson, Jackie Kellogg, Stu Laird, Kenton Leonard, Wes Lysack, Jay McNeil, Greg Peterson, Jeff Pilon, Keon Raymond, Roger Reinson, Rocco Romano, David Sapunjis, Jim Silye, Peewee Smith and Matt Walter.
