Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeder Football Club and MEG Energy are proud to support defensive lineman Corey Mace as he launches Mace's Faces.
Through this program, 15 clients from Enviros - a Calgary-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of family life in Alberta - will be the special guests of Mace at every Stampeders home game in 2013 including this Friday's pre-season opener against the BC Lions.
"I've worked with Enviros, I firmly believe in the work they do with youth and their families and I'm very excited to get this program started," said Mace, a four-year member of the Stampeders. "From my work as an Enviros counselor, I know how much it would mean for them to get a chance to attend a Stampeders game and I'm just as excited to have them there.
"This program means very much to me and I thank both the Stampeders and MEG Energy for their support."
Thanks to MEG Energy's financial contributions and their support of Corey's vision for the program, each of the young fans will receive not only a game ticket but also a cap and T-shirt as well as the opportunity to visit with Mace after the contest.
"The Stampeders are extremely proud of the initiative shown by Corey in getting the Mace's Faces program started," said Stampeders president Gordon Norrie. "From the beginning, this has been his dream and he has shown the passion and commitment to make the dream become reality. We commend Corey for his desire to give back to the community and are very pleased to support this wonderful program.
"We thank MEG Energy for coming on board to support the program and look forward to seeing the youngsters in the stands cheering the Stamps on."
"The Mace's Faces experience will create special memories for children and their families in Calgary and MEG Energy is proud to be a supporter," said MEG Energy Director, Community Investment & Corporate Communications Tara McCool. "MEG's Community Investment program focuses heavily on child and youth development initiatives and we applaud Corey Mace for taking a leadership role in this area."
