Calgary Stampeders News Release
Sole possession of first place in the CFL's West Division is on the line on Thursday as the Calgary Stampeders visit the Blue Bombers at Winnipeg's IG Field.
The Stampeders and Blue Bombers head into the first of three scheduled matchups in 2019 with matching 5-2 records. Calgary has won three in a row including a 24-18 home-field win over the Edmonton Eskimos last week while Winnipeg has lost consecutive games - including last week's 28-27 setback in Toronto - after a 5-0 start.
Calgary and Winnipeg split a pair of regular-season meetings in 2018 with the Stamps winning 39-26 at McMahon Stadium and the Bombers prevailing 29-21 on their home turf. The teams met again in the Western Final at McMahon, with the Stamps winning 22-14.
This year's Calgary-Winnipeg season series also includes back-to-back meetings late in the season - Oct. 19 in Calgary and Oct. 25 in Winnipeg.
The Stamps are 2-1 on the road so far in 2019 and 3-0 against West Division teams. The Blue Bombers are 3-0 at home and 2-0 against the West.
