
Stamps in Edmonton for Labour Day Rematch

The Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos complete their annual Labour Day week series on Saturday with a meeting at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. MDT.
The Stamps prevailed in the McMahon Stadium portion of the home-and-home as Rene Paredes kicked a game-winning field goal with no time remaining to give Calgary a 23-20 victory in Monday's Labour Day Classic. The result allowed the Stamps to extend their Labour Day winning streak to seven games and improve their 2018 record to 9-1. The Eskimos have dropped their last two games to fall to 6-5 on the season.
Calgary has won 10 of the 11 most recent Labour Day rematches including a 25-22 victory in last year's contest. It's been a hotly contested series nevertheless as seven of the Stamps' victories in that 11-year stretch have come by seven points or fewer. Overall, the Stamps are 11-2 in their 13 latest regular-season visits to Commonwealth.
The Stamps are 3-1 on the road so far in 2018 while the Eskimos are 5-1 at home. Against West Division opposition, Calgary is 4-1 while Edmonton is 3-2.
The Red and White's next home game is on Friday, Sept. 28 when the Toronto Argonauts provide the opposition. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
