
Stampeding Colts Continue Winning Ways

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts continue to roll as they beat the McAllen Thunder for the second straight night 6-3 Thursday night at Foster Field. The Colts are now riding a four game winning streak behind some precise pitching and bats that just will not cool down.
Colts once again strike first, this time off of a three run blast by Mark Ramos (4) in the bottom of the second. Colts first baseman Daryl Jones (14), set a career high in home runs with a solo blast over the left-center field fence in the bottom of the third. Right fielder Clay Calfee would get back on track as he would come up after Jones and slap a hard line drive into right field for a base hit. Calfee would come into score after Colts second baseman Danny Hernandez (12) would pick up RBI number 12 on a line shot into center-field.
Colts righty Chandler Barnard (5-1, 3.80) would continue his winning ways as the pitcher recorded his fifth win of the season. Barnard threw for seven innings giving up two runs off of seven hits with three strikeouts. The Colts right-hander tossed 95 pitches towards home plate, 66 of those pitches were good for strikes. Thunder right-hander Kurt Houck (2-4, 3.89) received his fourth loss of the year giving up 6 runs on 6 hits and 2 home runs.
Friday night the Colts go for their fifth win in a row as they play game three of a four game series against the Thunder. Also, the first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a free dental kit courtesy of Twin Mountain Dentistry. Make sure not the miss the series finale Saturday from Foster Field. Ocean Water Pools will sponsor a firework show immediately following the conclusion of Saturday nights game.
