San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas---Yesterday afternoon, the Colts activated infielder and Colts Captain Jason Crosland. Crosland made his first appearance last night for the Colts since June 21. Crosland suffered a rib muscle injury, causing the Colts star to be placed on the inactive list for the second time this season with the same injury.
Crosland is a two time league homerun champion, including last season. So far on the year, Crosland is batting .143, with one homerun and eight RBI's through 14 games. Crosland played at third base last night as the Colts handed the McAllen Thunder a 6-4 loss in game one of a four game home stand.
In order to make room for Crosland, the Colts released outfielder Jon Edwards today. Edwards spent five seasons in the Cardinals organization before coming to San Angelo. Edwards was drafted in the 14th round by the Cardinals in 2006.
This season, Edwards started 23 games for the Colts batting .227 with five homeruns and 15 RBIs.
