Stampede's Livingston earns CBA weekly award

BOISE, ID- February 9, 2004- The Idaho Stampede, the Treasure Valley's professional basketball team, announced today that guard Randy Livingston was named the CBA Player of the Week for the week ending February 7.

Idaho Stampede Head Coach, Larry Krystkowiak, said of the announcement, "We are extremely proud of Randy's accomplishments and his award. His leadership ability and his contributions on both ends of the floor has been instrumental to our team's success this season."

Livingston helped lead the Stampede to a 3-0 record this past week. He averaged 19.3 points, 15.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals for the 26-10 Stampede. In a 151-134 victory over the Yakima Sun Kings on February 4, Livingston posted 25 points and dished out a CBA season-high 22 assists. Livingston's 22 assists also set a Stampede franchise record, breaking the mark previously held by former guard Rusty LaRue.

The 46 assists during the week gave the Louisiana State alum 245 on the season (9.1 per game), ranking him second in the CBA. He has also jumped from 35th to 21st in the CBA record book for All-Time Assists with 1,222 for his career.

Livingston, a 6'4, 209 lb. guard has 190 NBA games under his belt. Originally drafted by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 1996 NBA annual draft, Livingston has played for the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Seattle Supersonics and New Orleans Hornets.

The Stampede continues their nine-game homestand this week with games on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Rockford Lightning and Saturday against the league leading Dakota Wizards.
