Boise, ID (February 9, 2004) â The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Idaho Stampede guard Randy Livingston was named the League Player of the Week for the week of February 1 â 7.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound guard averaged 19.3 points and 15.3 assists per game as he led the Stampede to a 3-0 record during the week, and a current five-game winning streak. He also added 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 36.3 percent (4 of 11) from the three-point line, and 85.7 percent (12 of 14) from the free-throw line.
In a 151-134 victory over the Yakima Sun Kings on February 4, Livingston posted 25 points and dished out a CBA season-high 22 assists, which also set a Stampede franchise record, breaking the mark held by former guard Rusty LaRue. On Saturday, February 7, he came up one point shy of a triple-double, scoring nine points, grabbing 10 rebounds and handing out 11 assists.
The 46 assists during the week gives the Louisiana State alum 245 on the season (9.1 per game), ranking him second in the CBA. He has also jumped from 35th to 21st in the CBA record book for All-Time Assists with 1,222 for his career.
Livingston also ranks second in the league this season in free-throw shooting percentage at 88.0 percent, and seventh in steals with 2.0 per game.
Other players receiving consideration were Dakota's Billy Keys (30.0 ppg, 9.5 apg), Rockford's Linton Johnson (19.3 ppg, 9.7 rpg), and Sioux Falls' Leonard White (31.0 ppg, 11.6 rpg).
