Calgary Stampeders News Release

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import receivers Ronald Keels, Landan Talley and Jonathan Lowe have signed contracts with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"All three of these players shared one important characteristic when we brought them to our free-agent camp in Florida - they made plays," said Hufnagel. "Keels and Talley are fast receivers who defensive backs had trouble covering while Lowe is smaller and very elusive. We have good depth at the receiver position, but this trio will try to push them for spots."

Keels attended Gannon University for four seasons. He compiled 34 catches for 561 yards and four touchdowns over his final three seasons. Keels holds the school record for most career kickoff returns (77) and kickoff return yards (1,480). He ranks ninth all-time in Gannon history for all-purpose yards.

Talley attended Lambuth University for two seasons. In 2008, he amassed 1,772 all-purpose yards for the Eagles including 1,133 yards and 20 touchdowns on 70 receptions. He also returned 24 kickoffs for 544 yards and carried the ball four times for 60 yards. He was named to the Mid-South West Division all-conference team for his efforts.

Lowe started his collegiate career at Mississippi State before transferring to Alabama in 2006. After sitting out a season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, he joined the Crimson Tide for the 2007 campaign and finished sixth on the club with 446 all-purpose yards including 277 kickoff-return yards. In 2004, he was named to the Southeastern Conference's all-freshman team while with Mississippi State. Lowe's father Eddie spent nine seasons in the CFL as a linebacker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
