
Stampeders prepared for final home game of season

(Calgary) â On Saturday, October 16th the Stampeders will be at home to face the Toronto Argonauts for their last home game in 2004. The red and white are coming off a bye week with 16 days of rest, while the Argos are heading into McMahon with a three game winning streak. The Argos have looked very impressive in their last three games defeating the Eskimos (26-17), Stampeders (49-24) and Lions (22-16). Below is a closer look at some of the events happening at McMahon on October 16th, 2004.
UNUSED SEASON TICKET NIGHT
- All Stampeder season ticket holders who have tickets remaining from the 2004 season can redeem them at the ticket office in exchange for white game day tickets to the Stampeders last home game of the Season on Saturday, October 16, 2004 vs the Argonauts.
UNICEF
- Volunteers from UNICEF will be positioned at all the incoming gates to McMahon Stadium to collect donations from fans willing to lend a helping hand. UNICEF is a charity foundation that works with others to overcome obstacles in poverty, violence, disease and discrimination in a child's path.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
- The Calgary Stampeder Football Club has once again partnered with Operation Christmas Child to kick-off their 2004 campaign. The Calgary Stampeders will be promoting the campaign throughout the game and any fans wishing to pick up an Operation Christmas shoebox may do so at the Stampeder ticket office or administration office.
NFL/CFL FLAG FOOTBALL (PRE-GAME)
- Before the game there will be a NFL/CFL presentation of the Flag Football program. Teams from Calgary and the surrounding area competed earlier in the month for the chance to represent their community at the National Championships. The team from Nickle Junior High beat out fourteen other strong contenders to come out on top for the third straight year. The team will fly, on behalf of the NFL/CFL, to Ottawa in November for the National Championships to be held during Grey Cup week. The National Champions will advance to the NFL Flag Worlds in Japan.
JERSEY OFF OUR BACKS
- The Calgary Stampeders will give their "JERSEY'S OFF THEIR BACKS" sponsored by Canada Safeway to 40 lucky fans after the game. The Stampeders will be wearing their 3rd jersey (black) during their match up against the Toronto Argonauts for the Canada Safeway promotion.
HALFTIME
- This week's halftime entertainment will feature Pee Wee Football as the Wildcats battle the Mavericks.
