Stampeders Finalize Training Camp Roster

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import defensive lineman Derrick Gray, import defensive back Johnnie Dixon and import linebacker Jeremiah Weatherspoon have signed contracts with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Gray spent four seasons at Texas Southern, where he recorded 178 tackles, 13 sacks and six forced fumbles. As a senior in 2007, Gray earned second-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honours with 76 tackles, including 24.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Dixon played two seasons at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss. In 16 games with the Wildcats, he recorded 34 tackles, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks.

Weatherspoon spent four seasons at Florida International University. He primarily played safety and shared the team lead in 2009 with two interceptions and was fourth on the Panthers with 56 tackles. He also recovered a fumble. For his college career, he had 172 tackles, five interceptions and two forced fumbles.
