Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders have traded the playing rights for American quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
In return for Mitchell, who is slated to become a free agent in February, the Stampeders receive Hamilton's third-round pick in 2023, fifth-round pick in 2024 and future considerations.
Upon completion of the 2022 season, Mitchell expressed his desire to explore other opportunities to be a starting quarterback for another club.
"We spoke to other teams and Hamilton expressed interest in acquiring Bo's playing rights in advance of free agency," said Stampeders president and general manager John Hufnagel. "We are very grateful to Bo for everything he has done for the Stampeders over the past 11 years and wish he and his family all the best."
